I bought these because one of the negative reviews said they were small. I have a petite head and straight fine hair. Most head bands just slide off. I have recently started having thinning hair due to illness, so I was looking for a little coverage along my receding hair line. These headbands are everything I could have hoped for. They are wide and yet because of the way they are made you can tuck or fold them to be pretty much any width you want they are made out of like tshirt material so they stretch but not too much. If you need a lot of stretch the back is elastic, I have found that they could fit a variety of head sizes. The tye died colors are wonderful, I can find one to match most all outfits. The versatility is endless. They are soft, warm and I have washed them on cold and dried them in the dryer. They deserve 10 stars
