Installed mine yesterday. Probably took me 3 hrs to do it. Right side went ok but one tab on left was far enough from where it should have been that there was no way it was going to line up with the bolts and other tabs in place. It in fact it interfered with the installation so I had to remove it. I think it will be fine with the other three tabs and bolts intact. The vents required adjustment after installing but that's a pretty easy thing to do and now they both close nicely. I'm a mechanic and have done a lot of things like this. I'd say these were about a 7 out of 10 on the PITA scale. One tip is to lube the rubber bushing part of the tab with Vaseline or something to help them slide in and stay in place. As I said they look great. If you've put chrome above them this really completes the look.Very nice looking item. I have tried this on two GL1500's and I cannot get it to fit either one well. The original lower covers fit perfectly and all I wanted was to spruce up the look. Both bikes have a gap between the chrome lower cover and the upper cover of at least 1/2 inch. Normally it should be 1/4 or less. Put old covers back on and they fit perfectly. Oh well to late to return item now.Tough fit but a little effort will result in a great looking accessory. Need to glue the rubber trim on with 3M weather trim adhesive before you start the install as they will not stay in position without doing so.This lower front fairing fits perfectly . Clips on both sides hold it securely to the lower side fairings and it looks great . Other reviews say its hard to install but if you start one side then the other side will snap into place without removing the tab . Took me about 15 minutes to install .Very solid and sturdy metal.the holes don't line up . I had to drill out the holes to make them fit my 2008 GL 1800 goldwingdisappointed tried for hours, finally gave up...good product
